SERVICES
A client-centered report can be the difference between whether or not your client receives a favorable outcome in court. We specialize in advocating for clients through writing to help achieve positive results for our clients.
Our memoranda include the following elements:
-
A detailed and validated social history based on multiple client interviews
-
An exhaustive review of all existing records including:
-
medical and mental health, chemical dependency treatment, special education, juvenile and adult probation
-
-
Interviews with various other personal and professional collateral contacts who have knowledge of the client's life
-
Supporting documentation from providers, family members, and other interested parties
-
Relevant social science literature and research specific to a particular client’s situation
-
Identification of relevant departure factors
-
Sentencing data and sentencing trends for comparison
-
Specific and individualized recommendations
These persuasive reports are intended to humanize our clients for the court, and educate the parties about the numerous bio-psycho-social factors that impact our clients on a daily basis. In addition to formal reports, we often make referrals to services prior to sentencing and provide case management services so clients can begin to develop a track record of “particular amenability” to treatment and probation. Examples of this include chemical dependency, mental health, and sex offender treatment referrals, and ongoing monitoring of treatment progress.
The following are a few types of the written product that we offer:
DISPOSITIONAL DEPARTURE REPORTS
DURATIONAL DEPARTURE REPORTS
FEDERAL MITIGATION REPORT
PRE-PLEA SUMMARY FOR PLEA NEGOTIATION
TREATMENT PLAN
JUVENILE CERTIFICATION ANALYSIS
We are happy to provide more thorough descriptions of each report type at your request and we are available to provide a consultation to determine which option, or combination of options, would be most appropriate. Additionally, we are able to individualize and expand services to meet the needs of each case. Regardless of the type of work completed, written work product will always be included.
